Account information

User IDs and login details

TNtv handles the username and password entered by the customer, as well as subscription status and expiry information returned by the service. This information is required to authenticate the account, load the customer's playlist and provide Live TV, Movies and Series.

Saved usernames and passwords are protected on the device using Android Keystore-backed encryption and remain until the playlist is removed, app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled.

Free trials

Device identifiers

TNtv sends an Android device identifier, or a randomly generated replacement identifier when needed, to the TNtv trial service. It is used to create a trial, prevent duplicate free trials, protect the service from abuse and associate a trial request with the device.

A one-way device identifier record may be retained for the lifetime of the free-trial programme for fraud and abuse prevention. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Subscription requests

Optional mobile number

When a customer asks TNtv to contact them about a subscription, the app sends the selected plan, mobile number, request identifier, trial username where available, and request time to TNtv Malta. The mobile number is optional and is used only to respond to that request.

The app does not include the customer's IPTV password in a subscription request email.

On-device information

Viewing preferences

Favourites, Continue Watching progress, playback settings, Kids Mode settings and the Kids PIN are stored locally on the device. TNtv Malta does not receive this viewing history through the app's normal operation.

Clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app removes this local information. The app does not use advertising or analytics SDKs.

Service providers

When information leaves the device

Account credentials are sent to the TNtv service platform to verify access and retrieve content. Trial and subscription requests are processed by TNtv Malta's server. Gmail is used as a service provider to deliver subscription request emails to TNtv Malta.

When the customer deliberately uses Google Cast, playback information is sent to the selected compatible Cast device to play the chosen content. These providers process information only to deliver the requested service.

Security

How information is protected

TNtv uses access controls, encrypted on-device credential storage and HTTPS for its download, trial and subscription-request services. Access is limited to what is needed to operate and support the service.

Some account or media endpoints supplied by the IPTV platform may use HTTP rather than HTTPS. Information sent through an HTTP connection is not encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Retention

How long information is kept

Account and contact information is kept while needed to provide the account, handle an open request, provide support or meet applicable legal and dispute-resolution requirements. Verified deletion requests are normally completed within 30 days.

The limited one-way device identifier used to prevent repeated free trials may be retained for the lifetime of the trial programme.

Children

Kids Mode

Kids Mode is a parent-controlled content filter. TNtv does not knowingly ask children to provide personal information. A parent or guardian should manage the TNtv account, PIN, free-trial and subscription features.
